Solution for Ukravtodor: contractors under control!

GPS-monitoring system Metrix for controlling special vehicles of Ukravtodor.

Intelligent Transportation Service has implemented for Ukravtodor a GPS monitoring system Metrix (based on TotalAPI) to control contractors’ special vehicles. As part of the implementation, contractors performing road repair or snow removal work are required to give access to GPS tracker data of their vehicles. The Metrix system provided display of vehicles on an interactive online map, building of routes and reports for Ukravtodor employees controlling the work. Protection against abuse and improved transparency of operational processes were achieved.

Customer request

The State Agency of Highways of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) is responsible for the organization and control of construction, repair and snow removal works on state roads, as well as for the maintenance of road infrastructure. These works are performed by various contractors, who bill for the performed works, including mileage, motor-hours and fuel consumption of special equipment.

The main problem was the lack of an online control tool for the actual amount of work performed and the associated movement of equipment, its presence on assigned road sections and actual fuel consumption. This created risks of abuse, increased costs and reduced the overall efficiency of the processes.
