Metrix: RFID systems integration
Challenge
RFID tags are finding increasing use in a variety of businesses. They are used for process tracking, logistics, identification, authentication, theft protection and much more. RFID is far more reliable, efficient and versatile than alternative systems, and the cost is increasingly affordable. But RFID equipment operates in different frequency bands, supports different standards, and has different network interfaces. Therefore, the task of integrating RFID into the IT infrastructure of a particular business is often not easy. Sometimes it is even necessary to create the information systems needed to analyze and track RFID tags from scratch, which is not fast and costly.
Solution
Any business innovation needs a fast, efficient and seamless final implementation. Therefore, one of the most practical solutions is to integrate RFID into a convenient, functional and flexible existing monitoring system. The Metrix telematics platform is an example of such a system. To enable Metrix to work with RFID systems, we have already implemented support for basic protocols, passed qualification criteria and received authorization letters from key RFID equipment suppliers.
